On September 27th, our class will be taking part in the Terry Fox Run.  Terry Fox was a Canadian that ran the Marathon of Hope in the early 1980's.  His goal was to run across Canada to raise money for cancer research.  Terry was a survivor of cancer and had his leg amputated to save his life.

As he ran across Canada, people made donations on behalf of his efforts.  When he was just over half way across Canada, he learned that not only had the cancer returned, it had spread to his lungs.  He had to stop his Marathon of Hope in order to receive treatment for cancer.

Terry passed away when he was only 23 years old, but, in honor of his efforts, people in countries all around the world take part in Terry Fox Day.  Students at our school are raising money for cancer research and then are taking part in a run on September 27th.  The money raised will be donated for Cancer Research in Egypt.

This is a great cause and all students are encouraged to bring in a donation.  Donations can be brought to school and delivered to Ms. Kim or Mr. Jeffrey.
