On September 27th, the Grade 7 students headed out to the track to run in the honour of Terry Fox.  It was a fun time of running for a good cause.  The final results put 7A ahead of 7B in regards to lap totals.  Donation results will be available next week!    Enjoy the pictures from our Terry Fox Day!

Innovation and creativity awards go out to the students of 7A today.  To help raise money for the Terry Fox events at the school, the students decided to fund raise at school by asking teachers and staff to make donations.  This was above and beyond their responsibilities and they did an excellent job!

Thanks to all the teachers that supported the students as they raced around the track for donations.

The big day is tomorrow!  Tie up your running shoes and prepare for the race.  Class that runs the most laps collectively will be declared the champions.  Ready, set, GO!

On September 27th, our class will be taking part in the Terry Fox Run.  Terry Fox was a Canadian that ran the Marathon of Hope in the early 1980's.  His goal was to run across Canada to raise money for cancer research.  Terry was a survivor of cancer and had his leg amputated to save his life.

As he ran across Canada, people made donations on behalf of his efforts.  When he was just over half way across Canada, he learned that not only had the cancer returned, it had spread to his lungs.  He had to stop his Marathon of Hope in order to receive treatment for cancer.

Terry passed away when he was only 23 years old, but, in honor of his efforts, people in countries all around the world take part in Terry Fox Day.  Students at our school are raising money for cancer research and then are taking part in a run on September 27th.  The money raised will be donated for Cancer Research in Egypt.

This is a great cause and all students are encouraged to bring in a donation.  Donations can be brought to school and delivered to Ms. Kim or Mr. Jeffrey.
